Partner
Jared Lucas, M.E.S., M.A, M.S

Jared has had a long (fun) path to BioNeighbors.  No matter the stop, sustainability has been a part of his life.  He has taught pre-school in Philadelphia, worked as a kayak guide in Maryland and California, and taught rock climbing in Switzerland.  Academically, he has earned graduate degrees from Penn, MinesParisTech, and Tsinghua University in Beijing.  Jared worked on implementing sustainable water management systems in a sustainable Chinese city.  His most recent professional life found him project managing climate change corporate strategy in Paris for a global energy company.  After moving back to his native Philadelphia in January 2010 (he agonizingly missed the World Series victory in 2008), Jared has been involved in local sustainability by teaching and designing stormwater courses for the Energy Coordinating Agency and volunteering with the Sustainable Business Network.   He believes everyone should teach once in their life.  No longer in the corporate world, he now likes wearing a suit and tie.  If you ask nicely, he may break out his well used soap box.  He likes the question “why?”   Jared stresses that sustainability is a merging of economic, environmental and social considerations.

Partner
Zach Morris

Following a number of years in the wine industry, Zach sought change in his professional life in order to make a more direct, positive impact within our local economy.  As a passionate sustainability advocate he believes that water is our most precious resource and green roofing is the most efficient manner in which to alleviate the stress of our cities’ stormwater on the existing system.  Zach’s partnership roles with BioNeighbors/UrbanEcoForms are multifold and draw on his experience in direct business to business sales, construction project management and as a District Manager of Operations with a major national corporation.  Academically, Zach studied anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania.  He currently lives in Center City Philadelphia with his wife and son and looks forward to creating a progressively sustainable future for our city.
